I am currently doing more and more portrait work here in Orlando, Fl and very much enjoying it! It has been my main focus lately and I wish to pursue it further!

What does that mean for my convention shooting? Nothing at all! I should be at Florida Supercon down in Miami and AFO here in Orlando later on in the year for certain. And I am definitely hoping to be once again at AWA in Atlanta come September!

I'm here also to post my current rates for everyone and announce my special for the month of May! I do travel outside of Orlando in which case compensation for gas may be needed depending on how far I travel (conventions excluded).

With AWA less than a week away I figure I should say something on here also! I'll definitely be there Saturday and Sunday Morning (Friday still pending). I am of course booking photoshoots and have currently only got a few spots left!

I've also decided I'm going to charge an easier rate of $30 for an hour long session or at least until either of us is satisfied with the amount of shots we've done. That includes up to 3 people for the shoot and anymore after that is just $10 a person.

If you would like to book me for the weekend just send me an e-mail at admin@MoratayaPhotography.com!

Can't wait to see you guys there! I'm looking forward to getting back to Atlanta and AWA again!!

I've decided I no longer will be attending AFO as planned. Between lack of scheduled photo shoots and a few other things I'm only going to be swinging by Saturday night and maybe peek in on Friday if I can get some errands done in the morning that day.

I'm still planning on attending EXP this year so if you would like to book with me feel free to e-mail me at admin@MoratayaPhotography.com!

Rates for EXP 2012:
$15 for one (1) person
$20 for two (2) people
$30 for three (3) people

**If you are living in the Orlando or Central Florida area feel free to contact me for private shoots and rates! Just because I'm not going to AFO does not mean I don't shoot outside of conventions!**

I've been pretty AWOL lately and to those of you still watching I appreciate you sticking around. First I'd like to address that I'm not retiring from Cosplay Photography. That would be like saying I don't want to take photos of people anymore.

The fact is I've gotten burned on shooting heavy at conventions. I'm never as happy with my photos at a con as I am with a private shoot, and that has nothing to do with the model/cosplayer. It's about me.

I will still be shooting at conventions I attend but mostly by request. I want to enjoy the cons I go to now and figure this will give me better time to spend with those I shoot with. And as far as private shoots go I'm all for them and aiming to do a lot more this year.

My eyes and attention have begun to be drawn elsewhere into non cosplay work also. Portraits, fashion, even into animals. I'm aiming to do more photos in those genres over the next year.

If you're interesting in booking a private shoot and setting something up please feel free to e-mail me, even if you have an idea just shoot me a message and let's work on something. =)

EXP IV Photoshoots...

Tue Oct 11, 2011, 3:32 PM
I will be attending EXP again this year! I really do have a lot of fun at this convention and will once again be partaking in a few events such as the Con Ends With You! Last year I revealed myself as the Game Master and it really did take all I had to try and erase everyone but in the end two kids stood up and defeated me and my reapers!

This year I will be focusing more on private photoshoots and will be hosting my usual schedule with less slots for the weekend. (I want to relax and have fun too!)

With that said here are my rates for EXP IV:

$15 for one (1) person
$20 for two (2) people
$30 for three (3) people

Each photoshoot is an hour length or until we both feel we've taken enough photos. I will shoot a group larger than 3 people but please let me know in your e-mail for rates as sometimes it can take longer than an hour for a session.

While I always suggest having poses in mind for the character you're cosplaying we can brainstorm as we walk to a location or right where we are. Having poses or ideas of what kinds of photos you'd like helps make the most of your time but I love to collaborate and share ideas and don't mind helping you at all. Please stop me if I ever suggest an idea or pose that is something your character wouldn't do though!

Appointments and any questions can be sent via e-mails to
admin@MoratayaPhotography.com
.

With an appointment please send me your name and how many people in your group plus what you'll be cosplaying from. If you'd like more time than an hour please let me know in the e-mail and I can schedule you for a longer time slot. I'll reply back with my phone number so we can keep in touch during the convention for a meet up point or for any other reason.

Thank you and I hope to see you at EXP!

AWA Photoshoots...

Mon Sep 19, 2011, 11:35 PM
I will be attending AWA for the first time this year and am taking appointments now for photoshoots.

Current rates for AWA are $10 per person per hour. If you and your friends have a group of 4 or more let me know so we can schedule something a little longer if need be.

While I always suggest having poses in mind for the character you're cosplaying we can brainstorm as we walk to a location or right where we are. Having poses or ideas of what kinds of photos you'd like helps make the most of your time but I love to collaborate and share ideas. If you'd like more time than an hour please let me know in the e-mail and I can schedule you down. I'll reply back with my phone number so we can keep in touch during the convention for a meet up point or for any other reason.

Thank you and I hope to see you at AWA!

I'm currently finishing up Metrocon photos along with two other shoots I recently had but you can check the majority of Metro's photos up now.

So the conventions mentioned in the subject line are what seem to be my convention schedule this year.

AFO is a most definite and if you'd like to set up a shoot please send me an e-mail. I'm not going to be posting a schedule here like I usually do since I won't be scheduling too much at this convention.

Prices are the same, $12 per person for an hour slot. Shoots will be scheduled every hour and I'll let you know what times are available just let me know what you would prefer in your email and if anyone else is with you in a group. A group of four or more is $10 per person for an hour slot.

Appointment e-mails can be sent to
admin@MoratayaPhotography.com

AWA will be a first this year for me and my first time hitting an out of state convention. I'm looking forward to meeting new faces, seeing old ones, and having a great time. I'll be doing shoots while up there so please let me know if you'll be going to AWA and would like to shoot. Prices are the same as AFO.

EXP will be in October in St Augustine and I can't wait. Last year was a blast and the most fun I'd had at a con in a while. I'm looking forward to repeat that again this year. As far as scheduled shoots go I'll keep everyone posted here and on my Facebook Fan Page.

Devious Journal Entry

Tue Apr 26, 2011, 1:11 PM
Hey folks! Just about finished this morning and I'm really happy to finally have them out! I know I don't get photos out as fast as I used to and that's something I want to get better at. I know AFO and Metro last year were quite a wait and I never want to do take that long again!

So here you have it:

:spotlight-left::spotlight-left:- Megacon 2011 Photos! -:spotlight-right::spotlight-right:

I'll be getting to work now on photos from last week's photoshoot that Maboroshi and I co-hosted. I definitely took a lot more photos that weekend than I ever have before at any con or shoot but that doesn't mean four months! I'll be getting those out as fast as I can too =)

Photoshoot in South Florida...

Tue Mar 15, 2011, 9:10 AM
Come Mid-April Maboroshi of RisingSun.net  and myself will be hosting two photoshoots! This is a great opportunity to get your photos done by a great photographer and someone with a great disposable camera!

The shoots are at different locations on two different days (Delray Beach and Miami). The cost of the shoots are per person, per day. This includes shots done by either or both photographers at each location.

There won't be a theme to the shoots but you're definitely encouraged to plan out a group or theme with friends if you'd like.

  SATURDAY, April 16th

LOCATION: Morikami Museum Morikami Museum - Delray Beach, FL

ADDRESS: 4000 Morikami Park Road, Delray Beach, Fl 33446

   TIME: 9:45am - 5:00pm

   PHOTOGRAPHERS: Maboroshi and Myself

COST: $20 (plus admission to Morikami: $12 for adults $7 for under 18yrs)

The Morikami Museum is a fantastic Japanese garden. Traditional Japanese costumes are excellent here especially because of the architecture and overall surroundings. This is a nice upscale location so be your best behavior. Attendance will be  limited to fewer people than our Sunday location.
Please, no weapons or large props at Morikami.

                                      SUNDAY, April 17th:

LOCATION: The Prado - Coral Gables, FL

ADDRESS: 915 Country Club Prado Coral Gables, FL 33134

                                        TIME: 9:45am - 8:00pm (with 1.5 - 2 hour lunch break)

                                      PHOTOGRAPHERS: Maboroshi and Myself

                                        COST: $20

A unique neighborhood park with nice architecture including a decorative fountain. Excellent for portraits and cosplay. We will take a break for lunch and return for more photos. Attendance will be limited. Large props should be okay here.

To Sign Up: Send an email to webmaster@risingsun.net.
For any questions you can contact Maboroshi at the email provided above or myself at admin@MoratayaPhotography.com

If after signing up, you discover that you are not able to attend, you should let us know asap, so that someone else may attend in your place. Thank you.

Note: The more "on time" you are, the easier it is to find everyone. In other words, if you're very late, you may have to hunt for the group as we will be looking for photo spots. And you will have less camera time.

RULES:
°No large props or weapons at Morikami. Mini props may be okay.
°Please no yelling or horse play while at Morikami or Prado. That also includes vulgarity. Let's keep mindful of park rules while there.
°Please be respectful to and of other people, this means cosplayers as well as guests at Morikami and anyone else at Prado.
°We will need the cost for the shoot before we can begin taking photos of you.
°You may bring more than one costume for the photoshoot if you like, but we may not be able to wait for you to walk to another location if you leave the group to change. Best way to do this is to change to your second costume after/during our lunch break.

Like always I encourage having poses and ideas for photos in mind before coming to the shoots. Why? It helps get the most of your time and getting into character for the fun spontaneous shots! I can always help out if you're stuck so don't feel like this is homework you're being graded on!

See you in April,

First I want to thank everyone who helped me out in making this next announcement. A big thank you to my friend Aran of Fotobot who help build the basis of the site and trying to show me how to write html (it ain't too bad!). I've been working on this since about December and I'm finally happy to announce

:spotlight-left::spotlight-left:MoratayaPhotography.com!:spotlight-right::spotlight-right:

I've put together an online portfolio now and plan on taking the website to new heights as I work on it and learn more html. Please swing by any chance you get and check it out. For now the majority of my photos will be hosted on Flickr but I aim to eventually phase that out and primarily use my website. What does that mean for dA? I'll still use dA but like I have been primarily for hosting my favorite photos and best work.

Well folks, I've had a crazy crazy come through on Megacon appointments and honestly did not expect to already book Friday and Saturday. I really can't wait till March, Megacon is definitely going to rock.

Down below you'll find the schedule for the convention. Megacon is fast approaching now and it's high time I post this schedule. I've noticed a lot of folks are hosting photo shoots now and charging similar prices. I've been told to raise mine but I've decided against raising it very high, but a few things have changed.

∫I am now charging $12 per person up to four people. At four or more in a group it's $10 per person.

∫I'm now offering 45 minute slots that begin every hour. Megacon is a big place and I want to really take advantage of using more than just one or two areas. The time will be used for finding a better location than a white wall or hall; going outside. I know in front of the Con Center there are areas with different looks that can add to photos. The time you get is used primarily for getting from point a to point b, shooting, and giving time to come up with poses without having to rush very much.

While I always suggest having poses in mind for the character you're cosplaying we can brainstorm as we walk to a location or right where we are. Having poses or ideas of what kinds of photos you'd like helps make the most of your time but I love to collaborate and share ideas. Please stop me if I ever suggest an idea or pose that is something your character wouldn't do.

Like always I'll be taking appointments via e-mails at MoratayaPhoto@gmail.com. Please send me your name and how many people in your group plus what you'll be cosplaying from. If you'd like more than one time slot you can definitely ask for more than one. Below are the times I'll be shooting during Megacon and if the time slot isn't already taken you can definitely call dibs - first come, first serve.

Prices:
$12 per person up to three - 1 hour
$10 per person for groups of 4 or more - 1 hour

Everything must come to an end...

Wed Dec 29, 2010, 2:38 PM
Well first and foremost I want to thank :iconhoodedwoman: for the 1 year subscription to dA! I've been customizing my account with several different layouts as well as polls and stamps. I'll probably customize this journal a little more later on as I update.

The year's coming to an end and as most people are doing I'm looking back on the past year and seeing where I've grown and what I've achieved and haven't. I had set a goal last year that I would make it to an out of state convention by the end of this year and I almost did on more than one occasion but didn't. That's definitely a new goal for next year. I'm not one to make "New Year's Resolutions", like most other designated days or months with themes I find them false and basically gimicky. A person should always strive to improve and better themself, it doesn't have to be a new year for you to set goals and promises to yourself.

In 2010 I learned a lot and experienced as much as I could. As a photographer I don't think I grew as much as I did in 2009 but I did learn very valuable lessons and new techniques. Like always this year I met amazing new people who have influenced me greatly. And of course I've had another year of knowing great friends, something I am extremely greatful for.

I've received a lot this year: gifts, knowledge, insight, people. And I truly hope I was able to give back just as much if not more.

One love, one family

No Mr. Bond I expect you to...

Sat Dec 18, 2010, 8:22 AM
I've been pretty quiet lately I know. But I hope my latest uploads have been making enough noise for me! Haha. I'll be continuing to post more and more pictures but I just hate uploading much more than two photos a day, this isn't photobucket y'know?

The holidays have been busy, I've been spending time with family on days off so I haven't been spending much time shooting or editing; something I miss right now. Especially with the cold season I've been wanting to do some photos of winter fashion (not christmas themed), but I suppose I should head up north for that huh? I know I did a shoot last year with a cool chick I met off Model Mayhem named Megan. I have a few shots up here in the Models 2009 Gallery.

Next thing I'd like to announce are EXP Photos! For those of you that attended EXP Con this year in St. Augustine, Fl it was a definite blast to see you all and hang out. I had an incredible time and cannot wait for it again next year. To those I shot and worked with thanx so much for your time! I know I didn't take many photos during the weekend but it really was a more relaxed and laid back time for me. The end results however were not laid back and I do hope I've provided the best I can for everyone!

So without further ado here are the photos from EXP 2010!

:spotlight-left::spotlight-left:EXP 2010:spotlight-right::spotlight-right:

Happy December 18th everyone and Happy Holidays!

It's been three months now since AFO and I've yet to finish the photos from that weekend. This isn't something I'm happy with in the least about and I can only imagine how the folks I've shot with feel. I want to thank everyone for being ultimately patient with me. I've been second guessing shooting now at conventions because of how long it's taken me to produce these photos. I know Metrocon's photos took me a while to get out also and these reasons are part of why I was not at Shawn's October shoot and why I won't be at the next shoot.

Having a main job does indeed get in the way of editing time and going through the photos, working over night and sleeping days is odd and has its effects on me so I get little time to actually sit down on the computer and work on everyone's photos.

I hope that when the photos do come out everyone enjoys them and relives what was a great weekend at AFO. What this means as far as future convention shoots for me I don't know yet. That's something I'll figure out as time gets closer to my next convention, Megacon. Until then I'll be taking it slow during the holidays and probably into January.

As you guys know I'll be heading to EXP in two weeks but won't be posting a schedule for shoots like I normally do for a convention. This does not mean I won't be shooting though! Thanx to some amazing people I have a new camera now and will definitely be putting it through some use at EXP in St. Augustine. I just want to be able to enjoy the convention and hang out with some friends while I'm up there and still hold some private shoots all in one weekend.

On another good note I've finally uploaded the Metrocon Photos to my flickr account for everyone! I want to give you guys a big thanx for the patience yet again and for coming out and posing for me back in Tampa! I'm currently working on AFO pics and will be keeping everyone posted on their status and progress.

Other than that I don't know what else much to say besides reminding everyone to hide yo kids, hide yo wife!

I'm writing today because I'm truly embarrassed at how long photos are taking me to edit. I indeed told everyone at Metrocon and AFO this year that photos would only take a month or so but I really did bite off more than I can chew. I want to apologize to everyone I shot with those two weekends about taking so long with your photos, you guys have all been so incredibly patient and for that you all have a huge chunk of my gratitude.

Recently I posted why I've been taking so long with photos and that's due to me recently getting a job. I thought on my days off I could catch up on photo editing but I'm nowhere near as productive as I used to be.

I put out on my Flickr account a preview set of all the photoshoots done at Metrocon this year along with snapshots I took and pics done outside of the scheduled shoots. Swing by the Flickr if you haven't already and check out the pics! I'll be doing the same with AFO's photos soon.

On one last note it seemed like I wasn't going to be attending EXP Con this year (St Augustine, Fl October 6-8). Work had denied me the days off since I'd taken so many off already but they've recently hired some new people and given me the weekend off! With that I also want to say that I won't be having that many appointments for EXP this year. Being so far behind on photos already I don't think it's the best idea to shoot as much as I did Metro/AFO. I'll still be shooting but at the same time I want to enjoy EXP and all my friends.

Again I want to apologize to everyone for the delay in their photos and promise that I'm getting them done as quick as I can. I'll keep everyone posted on the progress of things.

Woooo. Things really have been pretty busy lately. Lots of changes, lots of work, and lots of photos to cover it all! About two months ago I landed one of those "real jobs" people kept mentioning and telling me about. The ones where you give your time and patience and in return you get a check (normally bi-weekly). It's been great to have steady income again but between Metro, AFO, and the Summer Shoot in St. Augustine work's been asking me in to come in a lot and so I haven't had very much time to edit photos; atleast not as much time as I used to!

So I do want to apologize that Metrocon photos aren't up yet and this of course is delaying AFO shots. Thanx for patiently waiting folks, and thanx again to everyone who came out at both conventions. It really was two amazing and fun filled weekends that included a lot of good times, good friends, and great photos I am really proud of.

I also want to mention I was able to shoot two of my dream photo shoots in the past month. Persona 3 at Metrocon was a blast and a definite surprise to see how many turned out making a total of seven people for that photoshoot! So many thanx to Th4m, Steven, MelfinaCosplay and everyone else who turned out for making this happen.

The second shoot was just last weekend at AFO, negativedreamer had rounded up a very very large cast of cosplayers from another favorite video game of mine - Jet Set Radio. There was a mix of Jet Set and Jet Set Future cosplayers which was a crazy fun mix from both games. Much love to silvver Animepunk1 infinityink888 otakitty Junicorn77 and everyone who came out to that shoot. The boom box playing Dr. K's hits from Jet Grind Radio made the shoot more than perfect!

Now I'd like to give a shout to my buddies :iconnicolaiandrews: and :iconalouettecosplay: for getting into this month's Cosmode with his photo of her Meiko Vocaloid cosplay - congrats guys! And with that I'd like to give a big thank you to :iconmakeshiftwings30: for choosing my photo of her Pitt from Supercon and getting into Cosmode as well!! Pit - Palutena's Champion =)

Everyone seemed pretty happy with the Metrocon schedule so AFO's will be just like it. And I would like to thank everyone who came out to Metrocon and to everyone who I shot with! Photos should be up within the next month and I'll be working on getting them out as quickly as possible! It was great meeting you guys and hanging out with old friends as always! =D

To book an appointment please send me an email at MoratayaPhoto@gmail.com. Leaving comments here on dA sometimes get lost or bumped down by other comments.

Remember to send your name, cosplay, series, and how many are in your party. If you'd like to leave me your number I'll send mine back so we can keep in touch at the con on where to meet up.

The rates for Metrocon and AFO are as follows:

1 person 30 minutes = $10
2 people 30 minutes = $15
3 people 45 minutes = $20

4-6 people 1 hour = $30

If your group has more than 7 people in it contact me for rates and how many people are in the group. Should fallout occur (like it normally does) the rate will obviously be cheaper. **ALSO groups should be from the same series. No mixing from other animes/video games/series please. (Obvious exceptions to this are things like Smash Bros., Marvel/DC comic groups, etc). Group leaders/organizers email me and let me know the cosplayers in your party!

Note: Have some poses in mind before coming, so to make the most of your time! Can't wait to see you all at the 'FO!

Please e-mail me your name, costume, series it's from and the time slot you would like/preffer! For groups please send me the same followed by how many will be in the group. I hope the new schedule is better for everyone, I decided that 15 minutes is too little time to find a good location and get enough photos for just 1 person so I won't be having such a short time slot anymore.

The rates for Metrocon and AFO are as follows:

1 person 30 minutes = $10
2 people 30 minutes = $15
3 people 45 minutes = $20

4-6 people 1 hour = $30

If your group has more than 7 people in it contact me for rates and how many people are in the group. Should fallout occur in your group (as it sometimes does) the rate will obviously be cheaper. **ALSO groups should be from the same series. No mixing from other animes/video games/series please. (Obvious exceptions to this are things like Smash Bros., Marvel/DC comic groups, etc). Group leaders/organizers email me and let me know the cosplayers in your party!

As always e-mail me your name, costume, and series! Note: Have poses in mind before coming, it'll help make the most of your time! Can't wait to see you all at Metro and AFO!
